Stbx has cashed in some pension

Hi,
My solicitor has informed me that my stbx has cashed in £80k of his pension (he can with his employer now he is 60) and is claiming £1000 a month with the rest. He is also working full time. CETV’s were sent in ages ago had he a bigger pension than me as I’ve worked part time for over a decade. He has also inherited another property (half) so that’s another £100k. He wants 50% of the family home and is not changing his offer even though I have the dependent child 100% of the time and receive no child maintenance or anything.
My solicitor has said the pension was under a court order so not sure what to do as, if things go to court, it’ll look like I have a much bigger pension than him now and they could end up taking some off me!
Where do I stand?

How old are the children? If over 18 then 50 50 Split more usual I believe, just from what I read with my own divorce.

Also, what has your solicitor suggested as a reasonable settlement?

If you were already in the process of divorce a judge won't take kindly to assets being changed, he's effectively reduced his pension pot but has brought £100k in addition cash assets into the pot, so potentially you could ask for half, same with the inheritance, so I'm not sure this is as smart a move as he thinks it is.

Your solicitor is best placed to advise you how to proceed, but remember that equalising pension pots is one way to divide assets but it's not compulsory, as long as the overall share is fair. Your stbxh will have to wait for you to retire before he can access your pension so a pension share might not be his best option, he might prefer to keep more of another asset.
