Hi

Does anyone have a recommendation for a Co-parenting app please?

I have read some shocking reviews of the ones google keeps throwing up, but ex and I 100% need one to stop all the crap....

Thanks!

Can you tell us a bit more about what you need it for ? I’m not sure I understand the question

Redfloweryellowflower · 09/04/2022 16:05

Depends what you need it for. You could set up a shared Google calendar that you can both access for dates and things (term times, play dates, clubs and sports events, dentist..) , but messages between you would be separate (usual, email, text, messenger, WhatsApp or whatever works for you)

Heard about our family wizard but it costs. App close is good apparently and free

Levithecat · 09/04/2022 21:37

Listened to a podcast about ‘our family wizard’ and it sounded great. Will try and remember the podcast… I’m thinking of trying it out (think it’s £80 / year) as it will help me manage exH - I find his texts etc quite intrusive and bullying and i’d love to block him. He’d behave more on the app, especially as everything on it is court admissible. You can also use it to schedule, share photos etc .

Sleepeatrepeat · 09/04/2022 21:40

Ex and I use FamCal it's free and really easy to use.

We have used it since long before we split so have just carried on. His older kids use it too so if they need hi. To sort lifts for them or want to see me (we are still close even though I am no longer technically their step mum) they will pop it on.

(It’s a really good podcast - about divorcing a narcissist)

penguinfacebum · 10/04/2022 11:56

Thanks for the replies and info. I don't want to get messages or emails any more from ex. It's just insults all the time. My solicitor advised using an app for communication, scheduling, paying for activities etc.
thanks again

@penguinfacebum my solicitor suggested it too, as I was struggling to keep boundaries. Family wizard is good (if you can afford it) as they really can’t be shits on it - everything on it is admissible to court

penguinfacebum · 10/04/2022 17:05

@Levithecat I am listening to the podcast right now. Thank you! Very helpful o am going to suggest we use it.

And who knew I was married to a narcissist....Confused truly eye opening!

Honestly, I’m only just coming round to that idea! Good luck, it’s so tough. I’ve definitely found it helpful understanding that exH has narcissistic tendencies

IAMGE · 10/04/2022 17:58

Be aware that narcs like the app as it plays into the perception game and for narc that are used to gliding the lily and smooth talking judges and covert ones - it is a blessing. You don’t need an app. All courts accept pdf file of photos of messages. Always text as if a judge is going to read it.

TinyMouseTheatre · 02/01/2025 20:44

There's some good advice on this thread, including "always text like you think a Judge is going to read it" Flowers

Posted on the wrong thread, sorry.

We use OFW it's £100 per person. The calendar is great and messages are date and time stamped. I recommend it.

BookArt55 · 04/01/2025 14:29

Our Family Wizard. Best £100 I've spent in this whole process. Video calls take place through the app. He can't delete anything (I was getting bombarded with nasty messages that would then be deleted so there was no proof if I hadn't screenshot), calendar shows the date it was added so he can't say that I didn't inform him in enough time, I can add documents like medical letters, school reports and again all dated so he can't lie. It's been a godsend and ex is now blocked on everything else.

The part I like is when I am sending him a message there is a little red bar chart at the bottom that looks at your tone/language and goes red as a suggestion to change the way you have said it. Been really useful. I try to be as professional as possible when contacting him, but the barchart just gives that extra reminder.

Oh, and you can turn off notifications so you can check the app when you are ready rather than them contacting you all the time.

100% recommend.

ThisQuickPlumFinch · 04/01/2025 20:48

OFW is free if you are on Universal Credit, I didn't realise until I listed to the podcast mentioned above. I have just applied for a refund.
