Drawing up own clean break order

Wondering if anyone can help.

After a financial hearing following my divorce a judge has approved my request for a clean break with exH and told me to send through the order for him to sign off.

I acted as litigant in person for the hearing so am wondering how I go about getting the correct paperwork - a search online suggests I need a solicitor which will cost me £400. Is there an alternative way I can do this myself or will the court order need to be drafted by a solicitor?

Thanks In advance

I think this is something I'd get a solicitor to do (even though I'd be gritting my teeth over the £400)

Drawing up a court order is on the face of it simple enough, but even a tiny error could cause some issues later on.

Someone will be along with better advice in a moment. There may be some templates you could use online but do be wary.

Once the Judge does signs it off it will be a legally binding order forever meaning that a solicitor should do it. I would say £400 is on the low side even for a basic straight forward order that both parties have agreed to prior. I believe there are 2 types, one which is the full order which is pretty lengthy (requires all the supporting documents) and a shorter version - however this has just been extended as well I heard.
If there is any kind of complexity or negotiations between the parties required then that adds to the cost obviously.
If the Judge does not pass the order then you will have to redo it and resubmit which takes more time and money if you need to go back to a solicitor.

Ok Thankyou for replies.

There's no complexity - we had no assets and divorced 10 years ago. We do have a child together but that has been dealt with via a child arrangements order.

If it is a clean break @Crumbs22 surely that means there's no complexity?

I think you have to pay. I've read a judge won't sign one unless it's from a solicitor.
