Consent order

Has anyone drafted there own consent order? H and I have agreed that I will stay on in family home, there is a small amount of equity and I will take out a mortgage in my own name and pay him £10000. I have a pension, he doesn't but he has stated he does not want to put a claim in against my pension as he is aware that he could have taken out his own pension ( I encouraged him to and he chose to spend the money in the pub instead..)
Solicitor is quoting around £800 to complete deal with financial order but she has actually agreed I could probably complete myself. Has anyone done this?

My situation was rather tangled so we needed it drafting properly. How about you write it up, get your solicitor to check it and send it to the court to be sealed? That might save you a chunk. If it isn't worded 100% correctly, it can be sent back as the judge can refuse to seal it so you'll end up spending the money anyway. Also, if there's a small error in the wording, it could leave you open to demands years down the line, especially as you have a pension and he doesn't

Make sure you get a clean break order as well.

Yes my solicitor mentioned the clean break order, I guess I'm just desperately trying to avoid paying £800 - but maybe that's a small price to pay in the long run?

Have a look at wiki divorce, they have templates.

It really is since once the order is passed by the Judge, it means neither of you can make any claims in future against each other. Please do bear in mind the Judge will want it to be fair to both parties and children's needs provided for so if it's not, it will be sent back for you both to re-discuss.
