How long did you wait if it was amicable?

Quick intro
34 with 3.5 year old DD
STBXH is 39 and we separated June 2019. Separate bedrooms etc. Eventually moved out with DD into my parents home in sept 2019 and then my own flat a while later.
Split is very amicable now (huge ups and downs but we have sold our joint property and he has given me every penny of my share and is friendly).
So I filed last night and as its separation, and he wont contest and is happy to move on (hopefully) I wanted to ask how long it has taken anyone in a similar situation.

I have only done it through gov website and no lawyers involved. We have no shared finances and custody etc is something we agree on already so we are doing this with zero involvement from solicitors.

I applied on 22nd June, could have got the Absolute on 8th October.

I'm delaying while we finalise the finances, and would have been 3 weeks quicker but my STBXH lives in Austraia and the post was slow getting out there.

You need to lodge a consent order with the court to make the financial split binding, otherwise either of you can still make a claim on the other years down the line. It cost £53.

About 4 years before applied for the divorce.

Wow that's so quick @thelonggame
I'm hoping mine happens ASAP, I just want my old surname back!

Really quick and easy for us. Very amicable so I think about 4 months start to finish. Cost £500. I always thought it would be a nightmare tbh but it was the opposite x

Sorry I meant to say that we waited 2 years before filing.
