I’m drowning in paperwork here and don’t want to keep calling my solicitor for advice-it’s costing me a fortune. Wondering if you can help.
I run my own small business and am stuck on the capital: other assets section.
I don’t know what I have to declare in terms of personal and business assets.
Any help appreciated.
Can’t believe how long it takes to fill out this form!

Have you made progress or still struggling ?

Business assets should go in 2.11. Capital: other assets is for things like unrealisable assets, share option schemes, non-marital assets. The form lists the type of assets which go in that section. I filled out my Form E as a draft and then had a session with my solicitor to go through any queries/address where items needed to be moved to a different section. This avoided a lot of back and forth and was a good way of doing it for me. Hope that helps.

Thank you. May suggest a meeting with the solicitor as I’m unsure on a few sections.
I got an inheritance. Does that just go in with bank account information? It’s in my name at the moment.

Re the inheritance, it depends: when it was received, what you've done with it since and whether it's been "co-mingled" - I'd definitely ask solicitor on that one as it can be a tricky area but still best to identify on your form E as a separate asset if not co-mingled.

Thank you. I’ve submitted the form today and asked her for help with this. Feel like I’ve just lost a month of my life it took me so long!
