CGT in a divorce

Hello, trying to divorce ex, so far have spent thousands and still no solutions. I have tried solicitor, mediators and now talking to tax people. I live in family home - ex has London house which he rents out.

I need to transfer London house to him (take my name off the mortgage) and I will keep family home. Just learnt I need to pay £70k CGT on London house as it has appreciated in value. London house not being sold, I will not get any money when it is sold so no gains for me just hefty tax bill. I do not have £70k. Ex refuse to sell London house. Tax people can't advise on divorce or how I pay. Solicitor says I need tax advice - who throw it back to solicitor and so on.

Has anybody been through this and can help? I am so loathe to employ yet another solicitor. TIA

ps been on here every since I discover ex had sex with my friend .. have NC since then!

I'm not a tax expert, but I'm assuming here that you're being deemed liable for CGT as it's a disposal of a an asset: CGT can be triggered even when there is no sale of an asset. I do think you'll need specialist tax advice.
If the CGT liability is definitely there, can it be taken into account in the split of assets?
