Getting a Divorce

So my husband and I have been separated for over 2 years. He has had a new partner for around two and they live together etc. I have mentioned divorce a number of times as for me I need the closure of divorce. He doesn't really say anything and I know it's due to money. He has plenty of it but he's always been very cautious and doesn't like spending.

Has anyone taken a cheaper divorce option like Wiki divorce etc? We get on really well and I want the least amount of hassle as possible. Normal route costs around £500. Are there any cheaper and easier routes?

No..and you must get a financial settlement within a consent order as without one you are not financially in a clean break situation. It could easily cost £1000

Thank you for the response. We have settled all the financial side. Not sure if that makes a difference x

You should still get a clean financial break otherwise either one of you can make a financial claim against the other person's earnings, pensions, assets etc at any point in the future.

You can get consent orders on wikidivorce for much less than £1000.

If you're settled on the financial side and you're sure it's all secure you can just apply for a divorce with no reason now as you've been separate for 2 years. The divorce process itself is straight forward.

I think you must discuss with a solicitor as other you have settled it, having dependent legal advice is is important
