Could someone take £100,000 lumpsum from a divorce

Give it away to children, keep £6,000 and then claim benefits?

no it will be classed as deprivation of capital. Won't you need it anyway to buy a house with?

Op because lawyers help each other keep it neat and tidy in court. They don't want a fuss. To sort out your problem you'd need a fuss. Lawyers want to solve it out of court and it keeps the price up because you have to pay for the letters while they decide what to do.
