Hi
I need urgent advice i am going through a divorce my ex is starting to mess around me giving maintenance (I have a maintenance pending suite)
I have debt ex is aware of this and my credit rating has taken a battering.

  1. I an thinking of claiming benefits since i can see my ex mess around with paying maintenance. Im living with my parent's and care for them. Can i claim my maintenance pending suite (later from the ex? While I claim benefits at least it will be getting paid regularly) My solicitor has told me of Rhea financial (they offer litigation loan) they charge 15% its 1.25% daily intrest (im dyslexic and not good with maths) I am looking at £10k-£15k a rough cost to start to finish with the divorce. My solicitor is ok with me paying him somthing and coming to the end and taking a lump some of me. What makes more economic sense? Am I better of talking the loan or staying away from this? Or can you recommend me someone that is good and will not rip me off. This is my end solicitor the 1st one left me a day before im first hearing. I am.leeds based. I'm extremely vulnerable and my ex is using this and he has the lions share of the income too. Please advise since I need to speak to my solicitor he seems like a good chap but he also needs to be payed too. I have 3 small children (11,8,4) and I ve got to think about them too. All help and advise is grateful acceptable and sorry for spelling mistakes and not making sense im so upset xxx

I think it sounds like a very bad idea. Try to get advice from a free women's charity like Women's Aid and also a debt management charity. They can go through the numbers a d support you to understand what you would be getting into.
