No Divorce Proceedings but he needs Form E from me?

We are separated and he is telling me he needs me to complete form E or he can’t get a mortgage to buy me out. FMH is mortgage free and there are no divorce proceedings as yet. It seems wrong to me I thought Form E was only for the divorce/settlement agreement. Not sure what to do, anyone else had this request at all?

People use form E in mediation too, but not in an official way. The official form E is just for divorce proceedings. Ask his mortgage company to send you the reasoning behind the need for a Form E.

Would it be a problem for you to complete a form E, if it means he can get on with buying you out?

Form e us usually exchanged simultaneously so ask him for his as well

A mortgage provider would not need your financial details. They need his. If for some abstract reason they do your ex cant ask them to put it in writing as to why.

Thank you for your helpful replies. I could complete the form but the mortgage he can raise will only be about 1/3 of my share. I’m worried I give over all my details and he still doesn’t get the mortgage but knows all my financials and this might make him stall any sale which is really the only way he will raise the substantial amount - he doesn’t want to do that until youngest is 18 (5years) meanwhile he lives housing cost free and I have a mighty mortgage. Can’t begin divorce proceeding until next year given the archaic divorce laws. I guess I feel nervous about him knowing my financials and I struggle to see how they are relevant to him getting a mortgage! If I do complete it i will be sure to get his part of the form too. Maybe I’m being over cautious, and over protective of my personal finances.

I think he’s chancing his arm. Form E is only required for court anything else is discretionary. Your information has no bearing on his mortgage application, it’s irrelevant! Clearly financial disclosure will be required to agree splits but that’s something v different and it would be a mutual exchange

Is he likely to be trying to get a joint mortgage in both your names without telling you...
