How long do we have to wait to divorce?

As posted last night, hubby doesn’t want to work on our marriage any more.
I’m going to do my own divorce online I think as my sister said hers was easy and cheaper.

My question is can we file straight away for divorce or do we have to wait? If so, how long?!

We have children but no assets at all to split. The house is rented and we have no savings

If there’s been adultery or behaviour do unreasonable that the marriage has irretrievably broken down then no wait required. Otherwise have to separate for 2 years

You will also need to agree on what happens to tenancy and arrangements for children. Also maintenance for the children by their father. Loads of info on CA website about all of that.

Fine under unreasonable behaviour and get him to agree this

State things like, spouse dies t engage in social activities, leaves towels on the floor, is emotionally distant

I said that mine played computer games too much to the detriment of the marriage. Kind of true, we just grew apart. Was approved. Did it all via gov website for the divorce itself.

In the same boat can anyone give me an approx cost?

Also in the same boat, but we have assets, house children, is it better to go via lawyers

And yes if not a simple “everyone walks away with what they have” type arrangement it’s better to get legal advice to make sure everything is settled fairly for everyone
