Someone between solicitor and forensic accountant

So have swapped form e with ex husband. He has blatantly left stuff off. I will be amassing everything to give to my solicitor including all the reasons why I think he's lying. I know forensic accountants are expensive so is the there such thing as a level between the 2? Has anyone had to use one and can you request that if they find something, the extra cost is claimed back somewhere in the settlement with ex husband?

I’m an auditor. Would love to be in forensics. A standard accountant who does audits might help out if you asked. I genuinely wish I could offer my services for free but my employer is a large accountancy provider and they’d sack me.

Some solicitors have forensic accountants in house, e.g., Stowe Family Law. Your solicitor may know one even if they don’t have one in house. Have you asked?

You could be your own forensic accountant to start with. Sit down with a cup of tea and that form e and go through it with a fine tooth comb, transaction by transaction.

What you're looking for is money being moved from one account to another. Where you see this you ask questions about the account and whose account it is and for him to evidence this. If the accounts are his you are also entitled to 12 months statements for them.

That's a starting point / have you looked at his form e and statements?

Yes am going through them thoroughly now I have them. His budget would make me laugh if it wasn't so serious. £675 a month for food and sundries for a single man!!
And a mysterious 3k so far sent via a money transfer company overs series of transactions to seemingly nowhere....

Some figures are crazy. My solicitor allowed £1000 pcm for childcare of a working 18 yo even when I pointed out there was none and if there was it was being paid for by said 'child's' employer...
