Hi, I have been separated for a while and now hoping to remarry so STBXH submitted a petiton for divorce in Jan 2019, over a year ago, he then messed up the decree Nisi application several times so there have been delays. I rang up for an update and the lady on the phone said that the decree Nisi application had been “directed to trial”, a few weeks ago but she wasn’t really able to explain what that meant. Could anyone shed any light?

I would assume exactly as said.

A trial will be held.

I did a quick Google but that phrase doesn't come up much. I did find it here...

Though I will admit I'm none the wiser.

The thing is that there isn’t a trial for divorce proceedings, no one has committed a crime
Grin I think it might mean that theDJ has recommended the decree Nisi be pronounced in court but I can’t really be sure. Thanks for googling PicaK, in the document you copied it does look like it means “going to court” doesn’t it
