Taking children abroad

My husband and I are separated, with 50/50 care of our children and no court order. I'd like to take them aboard for a week but he is saying he won't give permission. Can anyone advise? Do I need his permission or does he need to actively take me to court to prevent me?

There is no reason for him to say no, he is just a controlling bully! I'm SO tired of it all.

You could go to court to get permission

I'd be getting a court order. If he's going to be a twat over things, havingif it officially in writing protects you long term

you need a court order or his permission, works both ways

Thanks all. How long could it take and how much money? He could just write a letter to give permission, but he'll make me jump through a world of hoops, string it out, then decide not to anyway I expect. He's an A Grade Bully

I got a specific order issue signed by the court in nine working days due to how close the holiday was to the date that my ex conveniently decided he was refusing permission.
It cost £215 and mediation section on the court papers was unticked as there wasn't time.
I also applied at the same time for a CAO naming me as the resident parent.
This took 4 months to settle but I no longer have to ask his permission to take the kids abroad for up to 28 days.
I did it myself without a solicitor so the cost was minimal.
