Best way to find a solicitor (Scotland)

Don't want to ask friends, nor put up any questions on SM as I want to see a solicitor and get my situation in order before I tell my stbexh so how do I find a good divorce solicitor?
Stbex has quite complex financial circs as he thinks he's some Wall Street guru so I need someone who will ensure a fair (& honest) split

Thornton's aren't cheap but they are good. They do a deal on your initial appointment. Worth ringing around too since rates vary. In the end, you need someone who will do a good job and dot all the i's and cross the t's. Good luck.

Depends where in Scotland you are.
My friend used Jones Whyte Law based in Glasgow for her divorce.

I used a great solicitor in Dunfermline, depends on where you are?

Highland area but could travel to Aberdeen or Dundee/Perth for the right solicitor

Aberdeen has a few v v v good family lawyers - pop me a message and I'll send you names

Scottish law is very clear. Only what was earned during marriage is divided equally and gifts n inheritance are excluded.

Naturally other factors come into play but you can read about rulings on Courts.gov.scot

Harris v Harris, R v R are key cases to read.

Where are you based? I have a great solicitor based in Ayr. Happy to pass in details if that's close to you x

Sorry just seen you're not close to Ayr x
