I've been separated from H for 2 years this March. Very amicable and we probably get on better now than we ever did before. I'm starting to think about filing for divorce. What's the best way to go about this? I don't want or need a solicitor but everything I've read online is confusing me

IF all is straightforward, this is the only site you'll need.
www.gov.uk/divorce

Thank you that's helpful. I think what I'm struggling with is the reason. It feels very much like placing blame. For context I left him, finance and kids all sorted and everyone is happy. I want the finality without hurting him or falling out

Divorce online is easy, straight forward process. I did it alone without solicitor. It feels daunting but its easy

There is a section for living apart for more than two years, or at least there used to be!

Great I will look into it some more tonight. It is very daunting but needs must!

Yes it's enough to be 2 years apart if you both agree to it, as the reason for the divorce.
I think you also need to say why it's not reasonable to be together -- in which case use reasons that apply to you both. WE have separate interests, WE don't love each other etc.
Really is just basic form filling -- if amicable, the person to file for divorce should be the one best with forms!
