Form E - drug use

Hello,
I've not posted on here before - but I could have written a novel about what's been going on. X left a year ago. My children (13 and 11 yr old twins) now have 1 night a fortnight at their dad's flat (a one and a half hour journey away). It is less frequent in reality as he is often working abroad or on holiday. Before he left I realised he had been taking Codeine as I found packets that he had been hiding. I've been going through his Form E financial disclosure and I can see that he is spending around £500 a month on different online pharmacies. I am really worried because my 13 yr old son has type 1 diabetes and is pretty unreliable at his self-care. I don't actually know what my x is taking, or the impact this would have on his ability to cope if there was a medical emergency. I'm not sure what to think or do next but I'm exhausted. Wondering whether to ask my son's diabetes team for advice - or would that put us straight into social services remit? And is that a bad thing???? My X is textbook Narcissist and has been emotionally abusive - not physically. I did raise my concern with my solicitor when we first started the divorce but the solicitor seemed to not think codeine was a big enough problem, and at that point we had no evidence.

Was the codeine prescribed or where was he getting it? Codeine is a perfectly normal second line pain killer. I have taken it regularly and still gone to work. I function far less well without it when I can't bend down to do things. Is it just that someone needs to tell him about the government prescription season ticket at £10.40 per month? My dp could probably rack up that sort of bill if he paid for prescriptions separately.

Codeine wasn't prescribed. He's been buying it from about 5 or 6 different online pharmacists.

I worked with a bloke who was a huge codeine user, also bought it from lots of different places. It never affected his ability in work at all. I'd be more worried about the long term effects it's having on his body.

Codeine is an opiate/ narcotic, potentially addictive and is potentially dangerous as it can cause respiratory depression.
I do think it is important to look further into why he is taking it and how much.
Also worth considering whether he could be taking anything else.

I just looked up some prices and the cost of a week's supply at normal/ safe doses is between £25 and £45.
So £500 per month seems excessive.

That's a huge amount of money. He must be a high earner to have that much disposable income to spend on drugs. Is he?

Thank you. That's really helpful. I'm guessing he's mixing stuff. Argggh! So stressful. Yes he is a high earner - but that is on the line at the moment because of Brexit. I'm horrified at the position I've found myself in.

I think he mixes it with allergy drugs.
I've also googled "Purple drank" which is a possibility.

Oh.
He shouldn't be in sole charge of dc if he is using it like purple drank mix.
He shouldn't be driving under the influence of it either.
You need to keep all the evidence and get informed legal advice.
I am sorry he is doing this.
