How long once an agreement has been made

Google has been no help so I have come ask mumsnetters!

The question isn't about my divorce but my landlords, I was contacted early 2019 so they could arrange for the house to be valued. As you can imagine I was worried and devastated at the thought of having to leave my home.

Fortunately nothing came of it for a while and I looked into getting a small mortgage which will be enough to buy the property so I got in touch with my landlord who is going through a divorce which is why he needs to sell the property.

He kindly emailed me last week informing me an agreement had finally been made between the two parties (he also said the court had to approve the sale of the house, I suppose to make sure it comes to the correct amount) and that they just need to sign and then he plans to inform the letting agent he will be selling.

Does anyone know how long it might be from the signing to the actual sale?
I have no experience of divorce so have no idea whether to expect a couple of months or even up to a year.

All will be ready to go at this end within the next week, so it's just a case of him giving the go ahead

Any advice or experiences would be much appreciated

I should add, I didn't want to ask him as obviously it's private! I'm just wanting a rough idea of how long it'll be until the property is likely to be sold just so I know what to expect

I know divorce can take a long time but with them coming to an agreement and being ready to sign then I hope it won't be too long

I also appreciate the answer could be how long is a piece of string Grin
