Advice needed re. Police disclosure

Separated two years ago due to ex’s controlling abusive behaviour and multiple affairs and lots of reasons really. He has issues with cocaine and got himself diagnosed with mental health issues, leading to Cafcass involvement and lengthy legal process. The latest is that the court have ordered a full police disclosure on him and our children’s solicitor (court appointed a legal guardian so the children would be represented as my ex was using his solicitor mate to bully me) has written to me saying they have agreed undertakings that I am not allowed to have a copy of the police disclosure but inviting me to their office to view it and make notes, but I am not allowed to take a photo of it.

What I want to know is, is this standard procedure or are they saying there is something I should know about, that my ex perhaps is trying to hide. The solicitor’s office is 40 miles away and I would need to take an (unpaid) day off work to view it. I’m pretty sure I know what it will say but I suppose there could be something else on it. But I’d be pretty miffed at having to take unpaid leave and a wasted trip to learn nothing new. Can anyone advise?

Can you not ask them to send a copy to your solicitor and you can go and see it there?

I had to sign to say our court order wouldn't be shown to anyone.
In your interests so do as they ask op.

Agreed. Ask them to send it to your solicitors.

They won’t send a copy to anyone. That’s the point. They have signed undertakings to the police that they will not disclose copies to anyone else, so this may be their way round allowing me to see it without me having a copy. Also, i am now representing myself anyway. I have decided that inwill make an appointment to go and view it though

Could you take someone with you, sometimes two sets of eyes are better than one. Someone else may pick up on something you miss.

She’s the only one that can see it.
Op go with a clear mind .Read it diligently and prepare yourself for more insight to the person you thought you knew.
