How to divorce with no money?

I was the higher earner but gave up work to bring up my daughter. He cheated and keeps breaking up with me. We are still together right now but I'm left running a house I cant afford and I'm sinking in money problems. He refuses to move back with me because the house has too many bad memories. I feel the same but I have no choice as I need to keep a roof over my daughters head and cant afford to private rent. We are together but if he decides to end it again I want to get the ball rolling with the divorce and hopefully it will keep me motivated to go through with it. I have no money ag all so how would I do this?

Unfortunately you can't get a divorce without money because the court fees have to be paid when you apply.

If you decide you want to divorce him, you can claim benefits as a single parent and if you don’t have savings, they will reduce or cancel court fees all together

How would you apply?

Go to your nearest court and ask for the paperwork then complete it and hand it in with the necessary fee.

Do you own the house?
If you have no cash, but do have assets (including pensions), it would be unwise to divorce without settling the finances.

I’m in the same position. I am on unpaid maternity leave but husband won’t pay any mortgage or bills. I have had to start divorce proceedings to make an order for maintenance pending suit. I am using co op legal services and have only had to pay £150 so far. The other £150 is due once it’s all been completed. You can also fill a form in if you are on a low income or on benefits and the £550 court cost will be wavered or reduced. You can also tick a box on the divorce petition to say the other party will pay any court fees
