It took about 48 hours for mine (recent).

BlindTipsy · 01/07/2019 21:54

Yes mine was super quick too, think the request was sent in on the Tuesday and the absolute arrived in the post Saturday 😊🥳

AllMixedUp76 · 02/07/2019 07:51

It's probably quicker without consent order. Mine took 5 months.

Baby1onboard11 · 02/07/2019 07:54

Sent the day before could apply.. for example could apply from 11th so posted the 10th and it went through on the 11th. The absolute part doesn’t need a judge. It’s just someone clicking the button on the computer. Phoned up to check. Got the letter confirming about 4 days later

MrsBailey2019 · 02/07/2019 09:17

Thanks all. Can apply on 10th, go away on 16th but need a copy of the absolute for something else that we wanted to get sorted out before going away.
No consent order or anything else to resolve or needed, his divorce has gone through in literally 4 months start to finish. Wish my bugger had!! Lol

Thanks again Smile

I think it varies depending on which divorce centre is dealing with your case. I applied for my absolute last week, sent in on the first day that I could and got it through today Wine - that was EMDC, although it has taken a year to get to this stage with various bits of paperwork going astray there.

tisonlymeagain · 03/07/2019 11:46

Did it via email. They emailed it back the next morning.

MrsBailey2019 · 03/07/2019 12:08

Thanks both & congratulations!!!

His is East Mids & has been unbelievably fast, submitted Mid March & absolute can be applied for next week Grin.

Mine however is through Liverpool & I still don't have a Nisi date Sad, submitted mine on Jan 10th this year.

Both done online, both on 5 year separation, no children to sort as all grown up, no financial orders etc etc just plain & simple but oh no not mine!! Angry

Still need a final consent order otherwise there could be future claims. You’d be wise to ensure these are in place

MrsBailey2019 · 03/07/2019 12:41

They are not applicable in our situation but thank you.

I applied for my divorce on jan 8th this year through Liverpool, got nisi a couple weeks ago. Ours doesn’t have consent order or anything and my ex and I have agreed everything.

millymollymoomoo · 03/07/2019 19:34

Personally I think a consent order is necessary for all divorces otherwise you leave yourself open to a claim down the line. Why keep that risk ?

Up to you guys I personally wouldn’t do it even if there were no assets or anything right now.

MrsBailey2019 · 03/07/2019 20:59

I’m the same yellow..not all marriages end nastily!

Everyone says get a consent order rah rah but it works both ways. It also leaves it open for me to claim, it’s a two way street but everything is sorted & I don’t need to go down that route due to a very lovely amicable ex husband plus the paperwork our solicitors sorted is ample enough for us & my DF & his ex but thanks for the input.

@Yellowraysofsunshine

Can I ask how many weeks notice you have for the Nisi please? DF had 6 weeks between getting his date & it being read so just curious.
