Who pays nursery fees etc

For example the non resident parent picks up the children every Monday and Wednesday from nursery at 5pm then drops them to nursery the following morning.

The non resident pays appropriate CMS based on having them 2 nights per week (plus weekends).

Would the non resident parent usually pay for the childcare during the day? Or when they are at nursery they are effectively back in care of the resident parent?

Both parents work full time.

It’s a hypothetical question as we haven’t agreed on weekday access times yet, but I’d like an idea of how people would normally expect the finances to work. Particularly if there are any court experiences to back this up

If the nrp has them Monday and Wednesday plus weekends, how are they the nrp? That's 4 days?

If you've made a mistake there, I'll carry on as though you indeed ARE the resident parent.

I think if both work full time, that the fees should be payed by the resident parent.

But that doesn't seem quite fair....difficult.

No idea how this would be treated in court, but surely it's fairer to split the nursery fees equally?

My understanding is that the CMS calculation would be the same for a child in school (i.e. with no nursery fees to pay). Therefore it must be intended for non-childcare items.

Nursery is normally paid by the parent whos time it falls in.
It cant hurt to request a contribution anyway
It sounds like youv picked a short straw if he has 2 overnights and every weekend. He gets more freetime and you get more bills so id go back to the drawing board on this....suggest eow?

Sorry was meant to say, weekends are alternate.

Surely it's a question of full time collective responsibility. You both love and brought child into the world, you both want the best care for the child and you both need to work. I'd say it 50/50 isn't it. It's about parental responsibilities rather than childcare arrangements
