CO-OP divorce - any experience s?

So I'm currently trying to file for divorce. We're both being amicable about it all & both just want to get it done. I spoke to a solicitor this week & they charge £750 fixed fee. I've seen that the CO-OP now deal with divorce & charge £350 fixed fee. Just spoken to them & it all seems pretty straight forward, legit. They say they're trialling a cheaper cost for straight forward divorces but may charge more for other services, hence why it's a lot cheaper. Anyone had any dealings with them for their divorce?

The court fees are £550 irrespective of who you go through. Plenty of people do it themselves through the gov website now. If you are on a low income or in receipt of certain benefits you can apply for help with the £550 court fee.

You will need a solicitor to draw up financial agreement for a consent order but as a previous poster said you can do everything else yourselves. Though you shouldn't really as mistakes can cost you £95 per time so it may be cheaper to get a solicitor to check the paperwork.

Also while it may seem expensive to get and pay for a consent order, it is more expensive not to get one. If you inherit any money, win the lottery, get remarried to a slightly richer partner etc your former spouse has the right to try and claim money from you in future. There is a court case that illustrates this.

I came on here to see about reviews of divorce-online.co.uk and wikivorce, so am just looking over the coop site now.

The fee quoted you is most likely for advice and managing the process, then either you and/or your partner still need to pay the standard rate of 550 to submit the paper work to gov.uk.

The COOP site isn't very clear, but if you spoke to someone they didn't mention fees for all related costs? That could be a red flag to me if they didn't. .

In looking at sites (I haven't spoken to anyone yet), I'm leaning towards divorce online.

I would recommend doing the divorce yourself through the gov site, then involve a solicitor or online company for any finances. Some solicitors will do a fixed price for a consent order as do some of the online companies. From my experience the courts won’t consider your consent order until you have a nisi date.

Thank you all. I'm going to look in to doing it online.
