Solicitor not replying how long should I wait?

I'm aware emails and phone calls cost money and as sbx has just pulled out of mediation it looks like it will be a costly process.

I paid £500 deposit about two weeks ago to start work. Last week she said she'd have a draft email sent to me to approve before sending to him. I had nothing. I emailed twice this week telling her that he's pulled out of mediation and some other info.
I've seen her twice in person. (costs paid on those occasions)
I'm despairing already if it takes this long to get a reply.

What's the norm and would they generally reply to new info?

Sorry, I'm all new to solicitors really.

If you chase and chase you will pay for that. Try to send very clear emails with your instructions and limit talk time so far as possible. She sounds a bit tardy though but an instant drop everything service is very expensive.

I know you think you are paying a lot but the honest truth is that in the lower end of the legal market it is a churn job where they make their money by having loads of clients and you have to wait until you come back up to the top of the pile - she is probably handing over tapes and tapes of dictation a day. It's rubbish but in my experience thou get what you pay for. Some Are worse than others though.

It's £130 an hour and I have to top up the £500 deposit each month notmyfinest. I don't think it's the cheapest but maybe on the cheaper end of the scale. They are local to me.

Thank you :)

That is cheap for a solicitor.
