Divorce should be relatively straightforward, STBXH is not being a dick and has agreed not to contest my - totally reasonable - "unreasonable behaviour" petition.

No big finances to worry about, we have already split debts and have no assets to sort. Live in a rented house, his pension isn't much (as he spent a big chunk of our marriage as my carer) so I'm not worried about splitting that. Hopefully by the time I can start the process, he will have somewhere of his own too.

We have agreed 50:50 for the children (week on, week off), and also how to work that around him starting work (he'll be working 6-2, so will drop them to me in the mornings on his weeks, then pick them up from school on my weeks to split the time fairly), so there isn't anything else I can think of that needs agreeing there.

As I'm unable to work I have read that some of (all of?) the court fees will be waived, so I'm just wondering whether anyone has experience of eg www.quickedivorce.co.uk or www.divorce-online.co.uk/ (the two that a quick google brings up), so I can keep costs as low as humanly possible?

My friend used Divorce Online, it was all pretty straight forward as far as I remember. I had to witness an affidavit for her at a Solcitors which cost £30 if I remember correctly. That was around 10 years ago and I'm unsure if it's the same now though.

I used Divorce Online, too. It was really easy. You still have to get it witnessed by a solicitor and pay the fees at court, but luckily yours are waived. It should be done very cheaply, then. Mine was several years ago and it was about £80 - not sure what it is now.

I DIY'd using the information from www.gov.uk/divorce. I had to get a solicitor to draw up the financial agreement and we have no joint children, but it was all very straightforward.

Did all mine ourselves. I did divorce. We drew finiancial stuff up ourselves using an on line company. And ex wrote a covering letter to judge. All went through fine. We had kids and assets. No need for solicitors.
