STBXH threatening to quit job

Hi All

So told husband I've made the first step and he should be expecting to receive papers from solicitors this week. His response was that if that happens he will quit his job and we will lose everything... house etc.. (we are all living under the same roof at the moment) we have 2 children.

Has anyone else been in this situation?? We have no savings it is literally hand to mouth at the moment. I really can't take it anymore and need to move on.

If he does quit the mortgage falls behind, there's credit cards to pay, not to mention just every day needs like food?!?

Anyone been in this situation?? Any help/advice appreciated x

As far as i know there is nothing stopping him from quitting his job. He will just end up in piles of debt as equally as you will.

He may just be saying this as he realises now that things are serious and you mean business and he may be feeling very vulnerable so hes trying to stop you from changing all your lives.

Chances are he probably wont quit his job

Are you working? Do you have any income? You would be able to apply for tax credits and other benefits if you were single although obviously that wouldn't pay the mortgage.

Get some legal advice before you go any further if you haven't already eg re selling the house and who will live where and make a sensible plan.

He might be calling your bluff or he might give up work to spite you (my
Exh did and hasn't paid the mortgage or bills or child maintenance for years.)
