How to get him out

Hi All - I'd be interested in advice. Ive not gone through this process before and I don't know how to begin really. I've completed the form. I'm filing for unreasonable behaviour and I've picked 6 really lame reasons because I really don't want to inflame my ex as he's really, really sensitive.

However, he said to me last night that he doesn't want to move out just yet because he's scared there will be a property crash and he doesn't want to lose out. I suggested to him that I buy him out of our house. I'm worried that he won't go and wondered whether there was a way to force him out.

Be interested in your thoughts.

Go see a solicitor. Tell your husband to see one as well to protect himself.

I don't see how you could "force him out".

Not sure that you can make him leave if he is on the deeds since he has as much right to be in the house as you do.

Could you move out? You might not want to, but it could be the best option for you.

I think we're just going to have to sell the house. That's the only way to force him. It could rumble on like this for years otherwise. I think the idea of telling absolutely everyone that we're divorcing and then not doing anything about it is appealing to him. That way he keeps monthly housekeeping costs down (he only pays a % of household bills) which means he can go out and enjoy himself as effectively a single man. He's worked out that once he moves out his expenses will rocket, limiting his social life.

I couldn't get mine out until his name was off the Deeds of the house (I bought him out) which was a few months after our decree absolute.

Do you have children together?
