I will be in the early stages of negotiations. Stbxh is a high earner and over a mil in property held in trust. My question is, would that mean that I would get a higher percentage of the 580k from the matrimonial pot? Offsetting pensions so that's not an issue.
If we were to go strictly 50/50 I would struggle to house me and dds adequately unless I moved somewhere where prices were cheaper and he wouldn't allow it anyway. I've only recently started working part time after being at home for 6 years, the children will be living with me, seeing him EOW as his job is more important. He wants a clean break but I'm asking for phased maintenance for at least 4 years. By which time our youngest will have started school and I will have retrained and working full time.
Does this sound fair? There's already a lot of noise that I'm fleeceing him dry. But he's happy to hang on to his 89k net income, no spousal and a 50/50 split, whilst refusing to continue paying school fees.
