Can I do it my self - Divorce (Scotland )

Hey all, so I have a separation agreement in place, which deals with the children and all finances etc. This has been signed and is currently being lodged with the courts /sheriff .

So next step is divorce. We both want it but he wants me to raise it because that means I pay for it. So I'm wondering whether I can do the paperwork, and we'll, everything myself? To avoid more fees really. The separation agreement has taken 3 years and cost me everything I have. Wasn't that impressed by my solicitor to be honest, and it felt like no one was on my side.

I also need to apply for a specific instruction order so that the children can change schools... we both have parental responsibility but they reside with me.

Any words of wisdom out there?

Hi, I have recently done my divorce myself (it was finalised in August this year). You download the forms from the internet-there are 3 parts. You fill in the first part and sign, your soon to be ex husband fills in the 2nd part and signs, then you take the documents to the court (at a specified date and time) and swear in front of a JP that everything is right on the forms, and he signs the last part. The same day you go round to the civil court office and pay the fee (£107) et voila. You wait on the decree absolute coming in the post. However this is only if the kids are over the age of 16. Hope that helps.
