Keeping meds cool on road trip

I am a type 1 diabetic and my DD has MS. We are planning a long term road trip across Europe in a couple years but also shorter ones sooner. Her medication is much more temperature sensitive than insulin - if it reaches room temperature it cannot be returned to the fridge and must be used within a few days (one injection a month). It is also very expensive and if it gets spoiled while abroad it’s over £1500 for each dose, that’s if we could get it as it’s not the kind of medicine that a pharmacy would stock. So my question is, does anyone have any recommendations for a reliable portable medical fridge? One that can perhaps run off the car or be recharged? It needs to be small, say the capacity of six pack of soda cans or slightly larger. Thanks.

How about putting it in a thermos flask?

Thanks for your reply. The trip will be over a couple months and I need to fit several boxes of pens of my DD’s medicine plus my insulin. It needs to be kept refrigerater cold over the two months, but will be keeping extra supplies too. We will be staying in hotels but most do not have fridges in the rooms.

You can buy tiny medication fridges that are portable (I know because I work in nursing field where patients have meds that have to keep refrigerated). The challenge is you’ll need a fairly large one to carry all those meds but a quick search found a few that might be helpful

It might be worth contacting the manufacturer of your daughters medication to see if they have something they recommend.

@INeedAnotherAlibithank you but those are far too small.
@bigboykittythank you for the link and have you used this? I’ve looked on Amazon myself but was hoping for real life recommendations . My query with this one is it advertised as a fridge freezer and freezing any medication would spoil it. But it is cheaper than the medical grade fridges I’ve seen.

I haven't used the small 9l one, but have used a bigger version, which is excellent. It's a very good brand and really reliable. It comes with mains and cigarette lighter connectors. You can set the temperature to use it as a fridge or a freezer. It wouldn't freeze accidentally. It just has the potential to be used at freezing temperatures if you wish.

We use an electric cool box that has a car adapter and a plug, so you can transfer from car to accomodation easily.
