Anger and t1d

Hi,
I've started dating someone who has type 1. He's lovely but then will have a sudden aggressive or moody reaction to something minor (not physical aggression, just shouty then it passes and he's back to being very chilled). Looking back at instances, I know some were when he then turned out to being a hypo. A couple were when we were particularly hungry because we missed a meal and got delayed. I think sometimes his level is low and sometimes it is happening when he's high. He's in his late forties and was only diagnosed a year ago (initially it was assumed it was t2 but later discovered it is t1).

I don't want to excuse him for his moodiness and mood swings but equally if the issue is stemming from his glucose levels, I want to be supportive. I don't know if his moodiness is related though. Does anyone have this sort of behaviour with highs and lows?

My friends husband is like this, goes a bit odd, talks nonsense with hypos etc. Think it's fairly standard for T1 diabetics.

Type 1 here, when I get shirty with my husband he tends to ask if I need a sandwich and he is usually right. Lows are the usual cause but if I go high it feels really awful.

My son was diagnosed type 1 diabetic a few months ago. He's in his 30s.

He has quite a problem with his blood sugar being low fairly frequently. And when it gets low he gets very stressed and irritable and is difficult to have a conversation with. Once he gets his blood sugar level back up then he is fine again.

He actually warned me that this is a " thing" connected to the low blood sugar and asked me not to take it personally when he is like that.

Can you follow his cgm on your phone????

my husband does - so he can see on his phone my glucose levels so he can support me….

I am belligerent and angry and irritable when low — he knows it’s not me when he looks at his phone and sees I just need some glucose !!!!
