Pump Meeting Next Month

I have a meeting about hopefully switching to a pump next month. The consultant told me today that I would probably be given a choice of two or three different ones, with wires and without, from which to choose. Does anyone have any thoughts, or pros and cons for particular models? In particular, why choose one with a wire if you didn't have to? Any advice or info, no matter how small, would be much appreciated.
If relevant, I already use the Free Style Libre 2 CGM.

It will depend how much insulin you use too, you won’t be able to use Omnipod if you use too much insulin. With the non tubed pumps like Omnipod you don’t get a choice of cannulas, just the one that’s in the pump. With the tubed pumps you can put the site in more places as you don’t have the bulky pumps attached to it, there’s more choice of cannulas to find one that suits you, and they can cope with larger insulin requirements

Thank you. How bulky is the Omnipod?

Thank you! I didn't realise that you could do this.

It would be a dummy pod, that is, with nothing in it. But it would give you an idea of whether its comfortable.

How exciting OP! How are you feeling about the prospect of moving onto the pump?

My T1 child is on the Medtronic 780G and it’s fantastic. It’s not perfect of course and we do still need to adjust it every now and then for ratios etc but their blood sugar is definitely much better than it was on injections. It’s particularly good overnight because we are getting a solid 7/8 hours of in range blood sugars which is obviously a great help towards a lower HBA1C. Medtronic are having supply issues of their new sensor which is unfortunate as it’s much nicer looking than the older one but it’s not really a problem and hopefully they’ll get it back on the go at some point.

I do sometimes think people get a bit hung up on the tubeless aspect of the Ominopod. It’s not the be all and end all.
