Hi,

I started making use of a trial libre freestyle just as an alternative whilst I sort my accu chek - does the libre sensor pad/arm patch just release and fall off when it’s ready?

No - you should get a warning on your phone app when it’s about to expire (say a day ahead and then an hour ahead )

yoh need to pull it off once it’s expired

Mine fell off in the heatwave on holiday due to sweat.
And previously fell off when I was getting changed and caught it in a bra strap.

You can get stickers which cover it, to stop that happening (not the heat thing tho.. I need to find a solution to that myself) .

Our gp gives a link, that you can link your results from the device to.. and then they can give you their opinions about it. But you must enter the carbs so that you can see how the carbs are affecting you and change things accordingly. An app like My fitness pal will work it out for you. I've found it really useful.
BTW.. NHS recommended Slimmers World. Their recommendations of what you can and can't eat, particulary the "Syns" are just not suitable for diabetics.

It's really worth You Tubing the Libre device to make the most of the trial as none of this was explained to me. The libre instructions on how to apply are not that clear... so I'd you tube that too as its expensive if it drops off, you can't reapply.

I think the access to these should be expanded because it would help stop problems before they develop, but our surgery wanted to stop giving out blood glucose monitor strips and lancets which are expensive.. without testing, you can't be sure what your Blood Sugar is doing.

No I've just taken mine off today after 14 days had to peel the bugger off stuck like glue.

Ah no when it came to the 15th day on removal it was a dream the removal went better then putting it on - I’d heard stories of other peoples partners having to dig it out for them. Then someone else kindly donated another sensor to use which I wouldn’t say not again to.

Definitely screen shoot the results whilst using it!

I’m now doing a weight management programme of calorie counting with Morelife for the next 11 weeks, that has been interesting.
