Has anyone been referred to this, how long did you wait, and did you find it useful please?

I just had a health check at the doctors as part of the check-up every 5 years, and my HbA1c was 43, which the text said was slightly high so they have referred me to this programme.

I am overweight but currently doing the Fast800.

Was referred today! So no insights to share but am interested to hear about it

I was referred last November after blood test showed pre diabetic level. I was contacted very quickly (ant most a couple of weeks) and I opted to do it all on the app. It is useful to be forced to log your meals, excercise and weight etc. and some of the articles in the learning section are very useful.
it lasts 9 months I think but although I’ve continued to eat carefully I’m not so good at logging stuff or reading the articles. And I need to up my excercise definitely.
It’s definitely worth a try

@Thismighthelp @lazymum99
I’ve just had a text yesterday to sign up for a face-to-face group or an online course. There is no groups anywhere near me so I’ll have to opt for the online version. I can’t work out how to switch to the online after initially selecting face-to-face so I’ve emailed them to help sort it out, so I’ve also got no idea what they are all about.

I’m wondering about when/if you have to have another blood test? Is it after the 9 months?

I’ve already altered my diet - but I’m finding it a bit daunting and overwhelming that this is so serious. I’ve done the Fast800 in the past which has its origins in the Blood Sugar Diet by Michael Mosley, so I do understand many of the principles, but when you are doing this purely for weight loss vs a looming potential medical condition it just feels a bit overwhelming.

I’m slightly panicking a bit about constantly needing to pre-plan what I can/can’t eat and can’t just go and eat an M&S sandwich or have a coffee & cake with a friend when out and about. Needs must though!

I have also successfully done Fast 800 in the past (I lost 3.5 stone!) but every time I try to get started at the moment, nothing happens, which is very demoralising! Think it is my age (menopausal) But I need to make it work now! Am trying bits of the Mediterranean diet on the Diabetes U.K. website
