I cut my foot in November on glass. Managed to get glass out but it hadn't healed, have seen gp two weeks ago and have xray on sat to check it doesn't still have a bit of glass in it. Was prescribed cream which I have used as described. It just isn't healing!! The skin is really dry around it, I use a thick foot cream but that seems to soak in then goes dry again! Making appointment for gp but is there anything I can do? Really painful to walk on.

Diabetic foot!!

Tha does look uncomfortable. I don't have diabetes but do sometimes get bad cracked heels. Lots of flexitol, including putting a blob into the middle of a big plaster and putting that on it after rubbing in as much as possible (both overnight and daytime) so there's a 'reservoir' of the stuff.

Thank you I will look into flexitol

Looks sore. Will gp not refer to podiatry?

Have you tried 'healthy feet?' I was in agony from an adult ballet day which caused cracked soles of my feet and cleared it up quickly. The crack wasn't that deep but it worked very quickly and took the pain away.

I am also diabetic and have issues with very dry cracked skin on my feet.
When I have a wound like yours, at bedtime, I first apply lots of Glucorx allpressan intensive diabetic foot cream and rub that in. Then I put on lots of Savlon, and rub that in a bit. Finally I use a huge amount of the baby aveeno daily care lotion, rub it in a bit but not too much, very slippy wet feet is the goal! Then I put on those white very thin cotton socks and wear them all night. This seems to replace moisture very quickly and heals up the cracks in a few days.
I should do it every night really, then I wouldn't get the cracks but I'm often too tired and fall into bed, only thinking about my feet again when a crack opens up and is painful!

Thanks all. Been to doctor he thinks glass is still in it, plus where it is isn't helping it heal. Have been referred to podiatry and also given 2 lots of cream!!
