Sourcing ozempic

Hi

Every month I have trouble sourcing ozempic. I understand it's not essential to life and there's much more important drugs that are in short supply.
I've tried about 10 chemists today who all say they can't get it.
What do you do if you need it but can't get it?

I’ve been on Trulicity for the past few years and it’s also now unavailable for the foreseeable. My regular pharmacist notified my GP practice, they called me to book an appointment with the diabetic nurse and I’ve been given a new regime. Yours should be proactive in finding a new solution for you so you don’t have to take your chances every time your prescription is issued!

The companies are saying towards the end of the year before injectable GLP1s are back in reliable stock.
Have you spoken to your GP/Diabetes team about other options?

@gingercat02 hi yeah rung them up and the receptionist said she'd spoken to the doctor on duty and they had told her that there was no alternatives and I would just have to manage without it until it's back in stock. I mean like I say it's not life dependable and I am on metformin as well. So what can you do lol.

There are other drugs out there with some weight benefits and improved HbA1c if you are suitable for them. I work in diabetes but obviously can't give medical advice on a forum

The oral semaglutide is now in reliable stock so they could switch you to that?

Yep :) and they are allowed to start new patients on it.

I work in pharmacy and starting taking it myself on Monday after months of my diabetic nurse saying they couldn’t due to supply issues.
