Weight loss failure

Hello everyone.

So the past 4 weeks, I've been on a no carb and sugar diet since finding out I had type 2 diabetes.

I've weight every Saturday, and all I've lost in 4 weeks is 4lb. I seem to be stuck now and the scales haven't moved for almost 2 weeks. I've stayed at the same weight.

My nurse was happy for me to completely cut out carbs and sugar as I've high cholesterol too. I was going to begin the Keto diet, but I can't have the fats. It's been a really boring, mundane diet, but I've got the Will power to stick at it and have been doing so.

Please, if anyone has any advice as to why they think I'm still not losing weight, that would be great. I'm all eyes and ears.

Thanks so much. Smile

First thing to say, though, @WildRose42 you have lost 4lbs - so not all is lost!

Second, would you like me to add you to the spreadsheet for next week?

I think it might be about when you are eating as opposed to what. In order to burn fat, humans need to not have eaten for a while and not be burning sugar. As diabetics we are burning a lot of sugar and have a lot stored in our bodies so it takes a while to move from burning sugar to burning fat. I have found that going for periods with no calories whatsoever (black coffee and water only) is the only way to get into that fat burning zone.

This may not be scientifically correct but it's how I see it based on my research. I've lost 4st since I was diagnosed in April and reversed my T2D in 3 months.

That is great well done. 👏🏻 could I be cheeky and ask for a breakdown of your meals, snacks etc? Thank you.

I'm desperate to lose about 3-4 stone myself.

Thanks again and congrats on the revering the diabetes .

@WildRose42

Hi, I'd be very happy to share my Instagram with you (where I post my meals), there's nothing personally identifying on there). Not sure if I'm allowed to on here, I'll pm you with it. If anyone knows if I'm allowed to post it, I would be happy to put it on here.

But in a nutshell, I don't eat many carbs and I refrain from eating for long periods. I rarely eat before 2pm (although I do try to listen to my body and will eat if I'm a

Accidentally pressed post...

I'll eat if I'm starving. I eat foods that don't come in packets and/or have minimal ingredients eg I eat a lot of yogurt and fruit with nuts on. Lots of salads and veg.

I would suggest, if you are used to regular meals, just to push your breakfast slightly later and eventually just go straight to lunch.

I also do longer fasts of 24 hours, occasionally 36, but again you would probably work up to this.

The only caveat is that it has changed my relationship to food, I feel guilt when I eat. That said, I'm not sure my relationship with food before was very healthy and did feel guilt for being fat.
