Are these numbers good or bad?

Something my optician said at my last eye test made me test my blood sugar levels yesterday.
DM has a blood glucose monitor so i borrowed it. (DM is T2 - Only risk factors were high cholesterol and high blood pressure)
4 hours after a meal .... 11.1
Then had dinner and re-tested before breakfast the next morning so 14 hours later. 10.4.

They aren't good numbers are they?
Pre-diabetes and a trip to to the GP needed?

They're not dreadful so don't panic. I'm diabetic (T2) and my 1st readings are usually around 6 to 8, and post meal around 12.

I'd book an appointment with your GP. You may be able to change these easily with some simple dietary changes. However, my Dad is diabetic too and I was very aware that I may get it too as we've got a strong family history.

You need to see your gp and get a blood test. The post meal test is borderline, but the fasting is certainly in the diabetes range. Blood glucose meters are not as accurate as a lab test, so it’s important to get it checked out. Were your hands clean when you tested? Residue from food or drinks, even some moisturisers, can cause an inaccurate reading. The fact your DM has type 2 diabetes does put you at an increased risk of developing it yourself.

Thanks both, I'll contact my GP to arrange a blood test
