Symptoms before diagnosis

Hello all, I hope everyone is well? I'm just curious as to what your symptoms were before a diabetes diagnosis. Did anyone get diagnosed with no or few symptoms?

I'm having a diabetes blood test tomorrow at the request of my GP due to reoccurring thrush (once a month). I'm not expecting it to show I'm diabetic as I don't have any of the risk factors (35, no family history, normal weight). I don't have excessive thirst which seems to be the most common symptoms. The only symptoms I currently have (which could be related to anything) are

  • reoccurring thrush
  • quite regular UTI symptoms
  • extra tired (but have a 2 year old)
  • dry eyes
  • dizzy spells
  • light headed if reaching for things
  • dry mouth
  • skin seems unable/takes ages to heal (got some spots/boils that are still present after 7 months however probably a hormonal element).

I have started waking in the night for a wee which I never used to do, however it's only once a night, so hardly excessive urination.

My mum was recently diagnosed with type 2. She had a uti that she couldn’t shake off and had been feeling really tired.

I was diagnosed type one at 33

Unquenchable first
Awful eyesight
Rapid weightless
Constant weeing
Tired

Those were my main symptoms. I got thrush while I was recovering in hospital and the doctor said it was linked

Thank you al, it's useful to have na idea of symptoms.
Also, is there much difference between a fasting and non fasting blood test? I haven't been told to fast, however my blood test is early morning so I won't have eaten (so effectively fasting) will this make a difference to the results?

I was diagnosed with T1 at 36. T1 can have a slower onset in adults.

My only clue was tiredness and brain fog.

Then I had a UTI and sugar in my urine sample so investigations began.

I had zero symptoms... Actually the total opposite Inc going off drinking water, no tiredness and no weight loss
