Are these symptoms of diabetes?

Hi, I hope I can get some advice here, I think I may have diabetes. I’ll find it easier to bullet point my reasons, as I’ll blab on for ages else!

There is a very strong family link of diabetes, on both my mums and dads side.

I am experiencing EXTREME tiredness, especially after eating a lot of carbs/sugar. If I eat a lot of rice for dinner, I’m often asleep an hour later. But the fatigue is constant, every day.

I went to see an endocrinologist a few years ago, as I was having very low blood sugars (2.2) consistently, had to monitor my blood levels daily, was told I might have an insulinoma, but it was discovered that wasn’t the case.

I crave sugar like a demon. I’m literally like a junkie when I don’t get it.
If I don’t have it for a day or so, I start getting really sweaty, shaky, lightheaded etc. I have these ‘episodes’ frequently regardless of having had sugar or not too.

What do you think? Are these symptoms? I know I could google it, but google would probably tell me that I’m about to die 😂

Doesn't sound like diabetes ( high sugars, lead to thirsty and piddling all the time to get rid of excess sugar more common symptom)

Does sound like a sugar addiction and intolerance that often leads to diabetes

Cutting out sugar may be a good idea but will cost you a few days of agony
( I am not a medic )

I also pee a LOT, like all the time! It’s something me and DH laugh about because if I ever watch a film I’m up at least 3 times for a wee.

I have thought about it being sugar addiction too, so maybe I’ll go down that route.
The problem is that if I cut sugar out, I end up having the sweaty shaky episodes daily! Maybe that is just something I have to hope will pass if I do quit sugar?

Polyphagia (excessive appetite) IS a symptom of diabetes. As is fatigue. And, the pp said, so is urinating a lot. You should make an appointment with your GP. If you start to feel really unwell, vomit or realise your breath smells of pear drops, you will need to go to A&E.

peeing a lot is because you drink a lot.

It is th ethirst which is caused by the diabetes, the weeing is aside effect of the drinking.

You already know that you have blood sugar problems, so it seems likely that this is connected,

You need to see a GP.

as n example - my friend bought herslef a pint mug and glass, so she coudl always have supersized drinks on hand.

if she went out for a pizza, she could down a super large one, and not feel full, and be hungry later, and didn't put on any weight, and was permanently tired, which she put down to broken nights becuase she was getting up to drink a pint of water, and to pee.

Currently fighting to stay awake. Daren't sit down in case.
I think I’m going to knock the sugar on the head, and make an appointment with the GP.
Thanks everyone.

Look into the blood sugar diet (michael mosley), it might help you reset your internal metabolism.

You don’t sound diabetic but you can easily get a free blood glucose test at your local pharmacy.
