I'm just about to start this week with a weekly injection, just wondered how others have found it?

Is it Ozempic? I’ve seen patients with good results if it’s this one. They are all hormone not an insulin mimics. They work by making you feel fuller for longer and all have side effects which you should have been told about. Have seen some good improvements in both weight and diabetes. One lady has reversed hers.
With any drug, it will only work if you put in the effort. Try and make small changes yourself too such as that tiny bit less on the plate or extra walk from the car to the supermarket. It all helps x

Thank you for replying! My consultant has been great with info about it and has a few patients on it already.

I've never had trouble losing weight. before when I've put my mind to it - have been eating healthily all year and started running again but getting nowhere so he thinks it could be hormonal (am just over 40).

It's just the unknown for me, I'm quite excited by the prospect of it working but don't want to get carried away with thoughts of potential bikini body! To be honest, would settle for "looks alright in clothes" body right now!

in type 1’s it is used out of licence as only licences for type 2’s.
I’ve known patients to be put on the victoza in type 1 which is the daily glp-1 injection but not seen anyone with type 1 on the weekly, only type 2 diabetes patients.
If you have type 1 diabetes, you will need very close monitoring due to risk of side effects and given that it is being used out of licence.

Thanks @bakebeans my consultant is quite progressive and already has some type 1s on the weekly.
I'm not sure which one it will be yet as just waiting for letter to arrive at my docs for presciption.

I’m a type 1 on victoza. It has a big impact on my control and my appetite. I lost lots of weight initially. Good luck!
