CGM on NHS

WreckTangled · 18/02/2018 18:42

Have just found out that my trust have approved CGM for patients with type one who have an insulin pump. That's me! I'm so excited. I had a trial of the libre over a ear ago but couldn't afford to continue. I'm most excited about not having to wake up to see what my bm is doing over night.

Good to hear this is happening in some areas ,unfortunately our ccg are not funding .Hopefully it will be available in all areas soon .Really pleased for you .

This is currently fucking me off. A LOT! I have really become to rely on these sensors and find it incredibly frustrating that I am about 2 miles from the border of a CCG who have funded them.on prescription whilst mine are still considering it.

Theresa May wears one FFS. I wonder if she self funds Hmm.

Not to mention the fucking mess Abbott's have made with the whole supply issues. Three weeks I've been waiting for a faulty sensor to be replaced. At £50 a pop that is not sodding good enough!!!

can you tell I'm not very happy

PeterPiperPickedSeaShells · 24/02/2018 22:05

My mum wears one and it has changed her life.
I very much doubt Teressa May's is publicly funded

WreckTangled · 25/02/2018 06:18

Hmm I wonder how many CCG's have agreed to find them? I'm still waiting for my dsn to call me back as gp can't prescribe them initially. I tried to get an appointment but they didn't have one until June....

Wow thanks user. I feel even luckier now. Wonder how long until the dvla catch up and allow it to count for driving. I drive a lot as part of my job so it would be another huge benefit. Such a difference to treatment now from when I was diagnosed.

It's the microfine BD 4mm ones I got them this time after a fight Grin I will get them for about two months then they'll switch them again. It's crazy. Thanks for the offer

WreckTangled · 26/02/2018 20:18

I always had those needles when I was on injections! I have to say after reading a lot of horror stories I realise how lucky I am to live in the area I do. It helps that my consultant is also diabetic Grin
