Friend thinking there's no point visiting mutual friend with dementia as she won't recall the visit

This is true but .. I'm annoyed. Friend with dementia will enjoy the visit and it will provide pleasant stimulation for her.
I suppose the friend not wanting to come is not keen for emotional reasons ( which I understand) and is using this is an excuse.
What do people think?

My cousins said that about my grandfather and almost never visited despite living close by. He stopped remembering their names but he never forgot mine and lit up when he saw me. I did grieve for the Grandad of my childhood but he enjoyed the visits so much and there was a lot of joy for me too.

Although his memory was confused the earlier parts were clearer and he talked them as if they had just happened, which was lovely.

Your friend may not want the pain that the visit may cause her, and is using this as an excuse. Maybe she isn't aware of if this though
