Can anyone recommend a simple coffee maker?

I'm considering buying one for DH who finds the kettle increasingly difficult. I was thinking that once it was filled up he would be good for hot drinks while I was at work, and the pods would mean there was no coffee or hot chocolate liberally scattered over the work surfaces 😉

Im completely clueless about them, but know we had one at work that was extremely fiddly- this would ensure that it sits unused on the side so keen to avoid that if at all possible!

Any recommendations would be much appreciated 🙂

for my grandmother we got a delonghi bean to cup machine.
really simple, just press a button (marked with a sticker).

it was important to us that we could adjust the water temperature to avoid scalding.

carer topped up water daily and whoevee from family visited topped up beans and removed the waste.

My mum has a Tassimo Vivy, which I think has been replaced with the Happy or Friendly. It's very easy to use and has a good variety of coffee, tea and hot chocolate pods. It is used several times a day and has lasted for years.
The machine was cheap, direct from Tassimo, but the pods are quite expensive, not easy to recycle and you cannot adjust the brew.
Overall though it has been a great machine for my mum and would be replaced if it broke.
