My Husband started to have sleep issues in 2020.They have got worse now.He has fallen out of bed, jerks, shouts, acts out with hand movements, laughs in his sleep. His behavior has become unpredictable. We have seen a neurologist after waiting 2 yrs on the NHS which was awful.Nerologist mentioned that many people with sleep issues may not have dementia and was not interested in helping us to get a diagnosis. My daughter & I think he has Dementia. Most things make him angry & anxious. He asks me to deal with things that he cannot or will not deal with.yet he is in denial.Life is becoming more of a challenge.I really would appreciate some advice from people who are going through this.Tonight he was speaking to our Daughter, while I was upstairs. She is her early thirties he asked her numerous questions. She has been working all day remotely.I almost had to ask him to stop!

@Xmasxrackers yes cadasil. Loads of early age strokes in family. My dad just passed of vascular dementia and I have migraine with aura and reynaulds. I'm scared if I'm honest xx my dad passed within 3 years of any problems x His mum passed of cancer in her 70s and his dad died of heart failure at 65 and as they were only children there isn't much of a family history I can look into further up

Oh lovey, my dad has done really well relatively speaking and is still going strong, so it’s not always as bad as it may sing, and my sister is nearly 50 with only migraine symptoms. Please PM me if you need to. It’s so so rare too so it’s “nice” to know we aren’t alone.

I wonder which side of his family he got it from then xx

@Xmasxrackers I'm guessing his dad's side as nan was as sharp as a tool when she passed and only had angina whereas grandad had heart problems starting in his 40s. I really hope it's not but sounds likely. I've started googling and wish I hadn't 😑. I hope you and your family continue to do well xx

Do not Google!

Don’t forget, it’s still relatively unknown and there’s not much of research as yet. We were told my dad would have around 5 years from when he was diagnosed. He has outlived everyone including my mum in their circle and it’s been over 20 years, so really they still don’t know a lot about it xx
