Fidget toys or something to occupy hands

I have a relative with Alzheimer's. No longer able to knit or sew which used to keep her hands busy. Now she is constantly picking at the skin on her hands and making them sore. I wondered if some sort of fidget toy might help? If so, does anyone have experience of what sort of fidget toy might be appropriate - or any other suggestions? Thank you

My husband scratches his arms and legs quite alot and even very short nails doesn't stop him as he will then pinch them. Sometimes he can have arms that looks like a cat has scratched him.
Found these in Home Bargains - https://home.bargains/product/46adb2ae-7e0d-4ba8-bde0-e7566dc93fd8/fidget-popper-the-game and they are also in Smyths toy shop and Amazon.

My mum loves the 'popper' toys, it's like everlasting bubblewrap and it keeps her hands busy

That's the sort of thing I was thinking about. Where did you get them from?

We got ours from Home Bargains and Amazon.

I work with dementia patients and find that although they may not be able to manage tasks such as knitting, things like tying bandages or thick string into knots does down very well. Its very tactile and they sit and unpick the knots for hours. I wouldn't waste money on expensive toys because half the time the simplest tasks work best and still give them that purpose they are seeking.
