Does anyone know of a device or system that means tablets can only be accessed when needed and in the correct amount, if filled by a relative.
My mums number of tablets are increasing and she'd previously done well with the doxicette (sp?) From the pharmacy but lately she's been opening the wrong day/time.
I've seen a gadget on Amazon, unsure if I can link to it, it's perfect but £60 and thought I'd ask here if anyone had any other suggestions, I'll post a link in the next comment, please report if not allowed

Medication devices will sound an alarm and open a little slot with the pills in.
The alarm will deactivate when turned upside down.
I think they're great for people with visual impairment.
My worry is that people with cognitive deficits can just tip the pills out and bin them. There's no assurance the medication has been taken.
If you think your mum would take the pills when they appear then it's worth a try

Yes pinkstink that's exactly what I've seen,

It was £60 and a bit more than I have spare this close to Christmas, I think she'd be ok with it, as she's relatively compliant just gets a but confused with times of the day etc hence missing, repeating doses

I work in car and you can get what you posted above and they alarm until the mefs are taken.they are very good but I'm not sure if a pharmacist or family can fill it bit definitely a good idea so still has independance

I'd suggest emailing your local councillor and asking for any advice on local funds that might help with that - eg community chest.
Alternatively the Age UK helpline might know about sources of small grants for something like this.
If your dm is or has been religious, the church might be willing to put out a funding request on Acts 435.
