Can I ask, how young your family member or friend was when they were diagnosed or 1st shown signs of concern.
Im 35.
The last 6months, Ive been having multiple blood testing every 3 weeks, I have a White blood cell infection but at the monent , the place of infection or the cause , hasnt been found.
Coincendently or one of the symptoms is, my memory and other related issues- mixing up my words in sentences , using words that have no revelance in a sentence eg Hot instead of cold.
Ive my next appointment tomorrow, the last 3 weeks this issue , with my memory ect,has become worse.

Im worried and my partner is now concerned too.
Thank you for reading

That does seem very young!

In the elderly, an infection of any kind often leads to mental confusion mimicking dementia - particularly UTIs. Once the infection is removed, the mental confusion disappears too.

I remember being concerned about increasing forgetfulness at about your age. the doctor ascribed it to low iron levels, and it resolved after a course of iron tablets.

The first stage of testing for dementia is a series of blood tests to see if there is anything else to explain the symptoms. I'd suggest you talk to your GP about your worries, but don't jump to the conclusion that it is dementia - there's many other things that can cause it, and even "early onset" dementia is more a concern for those in their 50s and 60s.
