How to keep Dad busy

My 83 year old Dad keeps dismantling things at home, vacuum, cooker, door locks (a favourite) when he can't work them he decides they're broken and takes them apart.
Any ideas on what we can offer to deliver instead please? I'm worried that once the lawn doesn't need watering and cutting, it'll escalate as he won't be occupied.
He's not a craft/ jigsaw person and his eyesights not brilliant either.

Crosswords? In large print? Meccano?

Yes I would try him with brightly coloured stuff like lego although he may find that a tad condescending. There are some great 'kits' on the market for younger kids and some simplified airfix type kits too. Failing that buy him some old locks, some clocks etc and bits and and pieces - from car boots or advertise on freegle or freecycle and give them to him and ask him to mend them. It doesn't matter what he does with them and he will feel useful

My dad had a huge, big screen laptop and played solitaire (cards) on it every morning, over mugs of coffee. Kept his mind active he said, but was also relaxing. He liked his routine.

Second hand stuff that no one cares if he dismantles?? Old bikes he can repair and gift to kids who don't have their own bike?

Model boats/cars, the old fashioned kind might appeal
